Chubby actors on British TV in the 1960sRonnie Barker.Ronnie Barker’s early career in the 50s and early 60s was either as part of a comedy troupe or as a guest actor until 1966 when David Frost brought him in with Ronnie Corbett and John Cleese to satirize the news reports on “The Frost Report.” This lasted 2 years until the next upcoming election. David Frost rewarded Barker and Corbett by producing shows for each of them and having them provide the same type of satire for his new news show, “Frost on Sunday” in 1968.Ronnie Barker’s career took off in the 1970’s by teaming up with Ronnie Corbett again in “The Two Ronnies” and creating and starring in comedy TV series “Porridge” and “Open All Night.” -- source link
