It was a kind of a metaphor, a visualization of what I felt from them as a whole: loneliness and silence, peace and calmness, sadness and hope. It’s like a journey of a lonely soul in a frozen and deserted world of timelessness. I imagined them wandering in eternity, in memories of their worlds and lives, looking for each other and themselves.It has become difficult for me to perceive them now. Perhaps this is my perfectionism and the desire to make everything logical and correct, attempts to understand them as living beings and fear of giving them more freedom in my imagination and art, fear of their philosophy, and prejudice against their animal-like appearance.I don’t know how to show vaerafes, how to describe them. I’ve spent years learning how to show their appearance and anatomy, but I don’t know how to show who they are on the inside.It’s like a lonely journey through the snows of timelessness. The voices of the living who have realized the essence of themselves. Their sorrow and hope. Their mortality and eternity…And just four legs, hair and skin, flesh and blood, a beating heart, and eyes and ears that saw and heard things I could never imagine.But I still love them.
