Khione (Χιονη meaning ‘Snow’) was minor goddess or snow nymph in Greek mythology, who was loved by Poseidon resulting in a son named Eumolpus. There are also varying myths surrounding Khione, including one that portrayed her as a woman, so vain on account of her beauty, that she claimed she could rival Artemis (goddess of the hunt). Furious at the accusation Artemis struck her with an arrow, instantly killing her. She was also said to have had a relationship with Artemis’s twin Apollo (god of archery) and Hermes (god of trade). In one story Apollo waited for nightfall and then approached her in the guise of an old woman. Hermes then put her to sleep and raped her. She became pregnant with twins, one Autolykus the son of Hermes, and the other Philammon, the son of Apollo.(Zuhair Murad Spring 2019 Haute Couture Collection) -- source link
