autumnvictoriuh: A little late but this is my Chris Motionless appreciation/happy birthday post. I really suck at these things but I’m going to try anyways since everyone’s been making posts in his tag today for him about how he’s affected them and such, and I don’t think any artist or musician has ever affected me in such a positive way as he has. When I first started listening to Motionless In White, I was in a really bad place, I was in a position where I was growing and figuring out who I am as a person, and with that I was realizing that who I am, isn’t the person that my family and people I was friends with wanted me to be and I didn’t know how to deal with that. Chris, as well as the rest of the band of course, but more-so him through his lyrics and things he’s said, helped me so drastically to be comfortable in my own skin, and to be comfortable being different than the people I was around, and even to be proud of being different. He taught me that the most important thing is to stand up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone. That it’s okay to look and think differently from what’s believed to be normal, and that you should be proud of who you are no matter what. Chris, and Motionless In White as a whole has helped me find a strength that I never knew I had, and for that I’ll be forever thankful. -- source link
