2017aka the year I forgot how to draw in anything other than Storyboard ProNo art summary this year since I barely did any personal artwork. I think I only fully coloured like 3 drawings… So instead of a summary, here’s a few random doodles I did of myself while I was working on boards haha. I honestly don’t remember why I drew some of these. This year was difficult because I took on more work than I could handle and gave up properly taking care of myself. It probably wasn’t the best decision but I don’t regret it since the extra work helped me gain more confidence in my boards. A lot of great opportunities came up this year that I never would have thought was possible a few years back! I’m still blown away that I get to work on Spider-Man, which I’ve been a fan of since I was little! At work I’ve been trusted to do more reboarding and I’m learning every day working with my directors. They also encouraged me to start freelancing storyboards for the first time! Working on boards from scratch was incredibly intimidating for me so this was a huge step! So far I’ve done 3 episodes for Guardians of the Galaxy and 1 episode for Avengers. They were a lot of fun since I got to explore different characters other than just Spider-Man and I definitely learned a lot from it. Other freelance work came up too but I can’t talk about them yet ^^” The worst that’s happened this year though was that my cat, Kris, has been getting sick a lot more frequently since she’s developed some kidney issues and pretty bad arthritis. Her kidney isn’t a serious problem at the moment so she’ll be fine as long as I give her medication every day. I also take her to the vet at least once a month now for physical therapy. It’s been heartbreaking seeing her sick but I’m grateful that I’m in a good place financially right now that I can afford the medical attention she needs. I accepted a lot of the freelance work to get extra money for her vet bills but it also took away time to spend with her. So next year I told myself I’m not taking more than one freelance job at a time so I can stay home more often! And don’t worry Kris is a tough old bird so she’ll be ok <3 I’m definitely ready for a new start in 2018! My goals are to focus more on self care, do more character design practice, take on less freelance work, and spend more time with my cats Kris and Oliver. I just reread my summary for 2016 and I’m so bummed that I didn’t keep the ball rolling for 2017. But it’s going to be the year of the dog which is my zodiac so hopefully this will be my lucky year!! I hope you all have a great New Years and thank you so much for the support as always <3–2016 summary // 2015 summary // 2014 summary // 2013 summary -- source link
