On This Day in History June 9, 1915: Famed guitarist, songwriter and electric guitar innovator Les Paul (June 9, 1915 - August 12, 2009) is born in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Paul is the inventor of his namesake solid-body electric guitar: the Gibson Les Paul. But this isn’t all he invented. According to the NPR interview by Ira Flatow with Sue Baker, the program director at the Les Paul Foundation in 2013: “Paul invented multi-track recording, echo, delay, reverb, all these things that the music industry depended on later. And because of that, some people have called him the Thomas Edison of music. ” #LesPaul #ThomasEdisonofMusic #MusicHistory #AmericanHistory #USHistory #History #Historia #Histoire #Geschichte #HistorySisco https://www.instagram.com/p/Cel9GkVOvLp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI= -- source link
