He received an award for the film but that’s not what stood out to me. Before the movie, he was a street vendor trying to make a living and support his family. For a young black boy to come from the streets, land a movie role with no prior acting experience, and kill it the way he did……That’s what stood out to me. That’s what makes it Black Excellence.
