Two wonderfully well-dressed military chaps share a deliberately acted fascination with the card one holds in his hand; I wonder can any of you dear knowledgeable readers pick up on the details of their costume (or the lettering I cannot read) to shed any light on the story behind this photograph?Edit - You are, as ever, brilliant - two helpful commenters have provided the following information :“it seems to be written in old Ukrainian. Text on the left is Strutynskii(name), on the right - Hotyn(place). After doing a little research I can say that there indeed was such photographer who worked in Hotyn (around 1905).”“The one in furry hat is wearing cossack uniform, I think.
