russingon:HALETH & CARANTHIR:A source of much speculation over the ages was the meeting of the Elf-lord CARANTHIR and the mortal lady HALETH. The histories told that Caranthir came to the aid of the Haladin when they were besieged by Orcs and afterward honored their valor with an offer of land. Haleth refused him and lead her people further west, first to Estolad and then to the forest of Brethil.Elvish chroniclers wrote that the event could be called nothing more than the brief meeting of two proud leaders, however, some oral traditions among Men told that something else entirely lay between mighty Haleth and dark Caranthir.
