#Repost @samdylanfinch (@get_repost)・・・Part of my struggle with people-pleasing is that I’ve been reluctant in the past to name when someone has hurt me. My instinct was always to try to explain away the other person’s behavior, for fear that if I allowed myself to feel hurt and name that I was, it would make the other person feel bad or uncomfortable. But if we can’t honor our own pain, how can we ever feel safe? How can we heal? And most importantly, how can we have healthy boundaries if every time we’re hurt, we make it our responsibility to justify someone else’s behavior while invalidating what little emotional space we’ve given ourselves?I’m trying to give myself permission to say “ouch” just a little bit more. I’m unpacking my instinct to dismiss my own emotional pain to make others comfortable. It’s not my job to make people comfortable — it’s my job to honor my heart and prioritize my growth and healing, so that I might show up in the world as I’m meant to.If you’re a people-pleaser, too, here’s a reminder for us both: You deserve to be at the center of your life. Your emotions, experiences, and needs don’t belong on the sidelines. You deserve to prioritize your own safety and healing. Deprioritize the relationships that make that difficult for you — not the other way around......#mentalhealthawareness #traumarecovery #mentalhealth #fawning #cptsd #recoverywarriorhttps://www.instagram.com/p/BzCTHm9DQkjHyNJFOhaerdqZ4DmPLD9eLI5JrM0/?igshid=p9156f2ierx7 -- source link
