Spring is quickly approaching and I have almost finished rounding up my decks for the season… and today’s deck, the Soul Landscapes Oracle, has been such a vibrant addition to my collection that I have decided to carry on working with it as a primary deck for springtime. It is created by Susana Tavares, whose Seeding Dreams Oracle I reviewed over three years ago. While her previous deck was inspired by a book, this new one has been born entirely from her spirit. This is a 44 card oracle that makes use of white space and a vibrant, varied colour palette - you can find all the colours of the rainbow, with brilliantly saturated watercolour illustrations. It is whimsical, soft and flowy; and exudes a brilliant energy that brings it to live. Susana writes: “[the deck] is a journey within, to explore the higher realms of the soul and the inner wisdom. May you use it as a tool to deepen the connection with your soul and receive the guidance you need in each moment”. She adds: “[it] includes many different energies of the Earth and nature, higher realms of the soul and universe, including fairies, trees, flowers, spirit animals, ocean, spirit guides and more”. I want to add that there are a few whales, and that it also showcases human (or human-presenting) characters, and it also makes use of some architectural elements like temples. I simply love it. The cards feature names or messages under the artwork, so even though they work fantastically for intuitive hits, you can also choose to pay attention to the colour-matching words. The backs are kind of trippy, and I like that. The companion 67 page booklet features a foreword, and then it goes straight into the card messages. Some are longer, some are shorter, and all include a couple of sentences which sum up the energies of the cards. For example, for rainbow portal, we can read at the end “Divine connection. Purposeful life. Wishes come true. Celebration”. The cards and booklet come in a cream organza bag.The Soul Landscapes Oracle is so bright, so pretty, so joyful. It has a very vibrant energy that just lights up the mood and adds whimsy even to the dullest of days. Though I am using it as a spring deck, I think these cards work beautifully on every season. I use it on its own, but I have also found that it pairs wonderfully with black and white tarot decks. Susana Tavares has created a true deck jewel and I am happy to share it with you.
