Following on from the casting of the waist molds with and without the corset, I decided to experiment with displaying the pieces. I wanted to clearly demonstrate the differences between the sizes and emphasise the negative space when they were layered up. I did this by placing the corset mold inside of the natural mold and then joining the two with copper wire wherever the two pieces met (which wasn’t in many places). I enjoy the negative cage like effect that this piece has. And I noticed -literally just this moment- how much the piece accompanies the ink drawings………. Also the top image is similar in appearance to the latex corset once fastened - the join between one side and the other - aesthetically resonates the copper wire used to join the panels together. -- source link
