#Repost @theintuitive_rd (@get_repost)・・・Intuitive eating is, at its core, the absence of dieting. But diet mentality is sneaky AF. Most of the time we have no idea it’s even there. ....It’s pretty easy to view intuitive eating through a dieting lens. “Eat ONLY when you’re % hungry, and stop eating IMMEDIATELY THE VERY SECOND YOU ARE FULL. OR ELSE”. But see, if we view intuitive eating this way, what makes it better than a diet? It makes intuitive eating just another set of food rules. It’s rigid and strict and it promotes a sense of guilt for “failing” to adhere. ....Intuitive eating is about food freedom. Freedom from restriction and guilt and rules. Yes, you should generally try to eat when you’re hungry BECAUSE IT FEELS GOOD. Yes, you should generally stop eating when you’re getting full because it FEELS GOOD to do that. But if you feel like having dessert (even though you’re full) because THAT would feel great, then you should eat the freaking dessert. And never look back. If you eat the dessert and notice you feel miserable after it and next time decide you’ll forgo the dessert for sake of feeling physically better, do THAT! Tune into what would feel great in your body in that moment. THIS is intuitive eating. ....Let go of the guilt and shame. No rules. No failing. It’s a journey.
