I was checking out the mocktail menu ahead of a friend’s milestone birthday celebration and smiled wryly at the venue’s *add fun* euphemism. That’s standard in our society; equating booze with fun. I’ve realised I have the most fun at active, non-drinking events; and the part of an evening when everyone is still coherent is more fun than the messy end of a night.
